Back in time we go... to the Farmer's Museum!

I went to the farmer’s museum in Cooperstown, NY where they took you back to 1849.  There was no electricity, cell phones, or cars. There were lots of farmers that made their own clothes, food and toys. There were lots of things I was surprised about. I was surprised that there was only one store. I was also surprised that clothes were kind of fancy.  I was most surprised that when people traveled, they paid $0.50 to get bed space that they shared with two strangers. Women and children didn’t travel .It has changed a lot since 1849.The clothes changed a lot. There aren’t as many farmers in Upstate New York. The biggest change is electricity because now people do things differently.  For instance, now people don’t have to scrub their laundry onto a washboard, we use a washing machine.  Instead of working for hours to clean the cloths, we can for bikes, walks or run errands while the wash is going!  The Farmers Museum was lots of fun!!
