Beach Pedicures

We have had a great week in Daytona Beach.  Bobby worked his magic and got us a cabana room just a few steps from the ocean.  Of course, Bobby was there for work, but the girls and I were all about playing.  Bobby’s conference presentations went really well.  He also held a meeting with the contributing authors for his book.  Making small talk over coffee, I  asked Bobby where he would be meeting with his authors that afternoon.   He said, “Here” meaning our hotel room- which at the moment was a complete mess… wet towels, sanding beach ware, and not enough chairs for everyone to sit down!  Bobby assured me that he would take care of it, and sure enough, he had cocktails and chairs ready for everyone when they arrived.

The weather was has been perfect.  We did shortened school days so the girls could take full advantage of the beach and the pool.  They made a friend at the pool and ended up roller blading and going to the arcade together.  Bobby was finally able to join us at the beach Sunday after the conference was over.  Before long, he was getting a pedicure from the Eliza and Abigail salon.  As the girls were putting the finishing touches on the signature painted big toe, Bobby looks around and says “So, this is what it is like when you are in a family with all girls- pedicures instead of tossing a football!”   Ah, he’ll be plenty happy when he baits up the fishing poles and the girls start pulling in the fish!

Oh, and how could I forget to mention- we saw the Space Shuttle Discovery blast off last night.  I must say, it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my entire life!
